[Mikage wakes alone this morning, the shared bedroom empty, which... is unusual, to say the least. It's more than that- the room suddenly feels bare, as if half the belongings within are... gone. Just like the other occupant.

Panic sets in at first, and he can't think clearly enough to come to terms with what it means. He rushes out of the house at once, spending several hours just running around the village asking people at random whether or not they've seen a certain jade-eyed teenager. Coming up empty, of course, he eventually staggers back home, seeking out his housemates to tell them face to face if they're around.

It isn't until later that he finally posts something publicly.]

Teito... Teito Klein's been sent home. For anyone who should know.

[ when he comes home, shuri's in the kitchen, staring intently at the directions for baking. he's hungry and walking to the store is too much effort, and too frightening, and everything is right here anyway!

[Mikage wanders in rather shakily, leaning on the doorframe of the kitchen entrance without noticing Shuri there at first. Gone. Gone. Does it mean it's for forever? What if Teito never comes back? He'll never be able to talk to him again. Going home means Ayanami would...

[ it takes a few seconds for him to notice the other boy's condition, too busy mentally whining about how much better it would e if he was home and had his servants. when he hears someone walk in, he just waves a hand toward them, ready to bark out an order to make himself feel better about, well, himself. ]

Hey!! [ the tone is arrogant and bratty, up until he glances up and sees that expression... wh...

he's never seen Mikage like that. Ever. ] ... Mikage?

[Mikage looks up uneasily, finally noticing Shuri and looking somewhat startled and... something else. It's probably going too far to call his expression "heartbroken", but he's as close as someone can get at this point.]

Shuri... Teito's... gone home.

it's a weird mix of satisfaction, envy, loss and victory. shuri sets the box down slowly. ]

[Teito... he'd heard the name a few times, but had never actually met him. But he knew enough to know he mattered to Mikage.]

... sorry, man. [He knows it sucks. The longer you're in Luceti, the more it hurts when someone leaves.] You going to be okay?

[The response takes a while to arrive, and when it does, Mikage's voice is considerably stronger. Still not exactly happy, but more than might be expected.]

Yeah, of course. Don't worry about me, Kurt. [He pauses, then adds-] Thanks for checking on me.

[Hm. He wonders if it's really that easy. With their talk on the roof, he kind of thinks that it has to be more complicated than that.]

Haha, it's okay. You don't have to do that. [He's not sure about forcing Kurt to have to deal with the awkward tension of a depressed friend.]

[Richard hesitates for a while before speaking up, if only because he doesn't know Mikage all that well, but... he remembers that the man was Naoki's friend, and not only that, he remembers his attempt to comfort Isamu after Naoki was sent home. Richard appreciates that a great deal, if nothing else; it's his turn to return that favor now.]
