...Snow? Why is there snow? I thought-

Teito? Teito! What happened...?

[Mikage's in the forest south of the village, somewhat close to the lake. He is both a) thoroughly confused, and b) damn cold. Some assistance would be appreciated!]

Well, they do talk about faith and God. Carry around "God's word" and such, but they don't have any real powers and the purification rituals are mostly drop blessed water over the person or thing they want to purify. Faith helps many humans to go on in their lives but I wouldn't say that bishops protect people.

That's what the police does, or the firemen.

Well, the bishops of my world do that too, I suppose but it's... Something up to debate as there aren't really proofs of them being really capable of doing that. And then there's the fact that bishops only attend those of their same faith and some even condemn the others...

Faith is something pretty confusing and senseless. Specially since there are not even the smallest proofs of it working. At least in my world, I wouldn't say it's the same in other worlds. Technology and science differ from world to world, some have a high advanced one, others lack it completely, but faith is something you can find everywhere apparently.

People's faith has changed during the world's history. In the ancient past people had faith in several Gods at once, each God dedicated to something: the sun, the moon, the harvest, the house, the wine... There was a pantheon of Gods per each country basically, though back then there weren't many countries it was all mostly tribes. As time went on faith changed to be more communal, and now there aren't many different faiths, but there is not an only absolute one.

And there are places where faith is banned.
