[Good morning, Luceti. There's a little pink fluffball scampering around town today, looking like he's searching very urgently for something- or someone. This little guy - better known to some as a fyulong dragon - is carrying around a human-sized journal with the name "Mikage" scrawled across the front. It's quite the task to carry around a book that's about the same size as you are, so he'll be seeking people out, whether they be a friend or a stranger, to perhaps get some help with it.

He might not stay with anyone for very long, mind you- he has a certain place to be. But don't be surprised if he comes right up to you, nudging the journal urgently, and-]

Burupya!

[...says something unintelligible.

Surprise, Mikage's back! And as a dragon. This is a preemptive Malnosso effect; Mikage has his memories, but because of his situation they're a little jumbled, so he'll recognize faces without having many clear memories or the ability to speak.

It's temporary, though, so Mikage will be making his real return in the future o7]

[Derke shakes his head.]

Malnosso just can't get it right, huh?

Got any idea where you want to go? I could carry the book for you for a bit.

[...Oh! That would be just lovely! Mikage bounces around a few times, looking eager, then glances around for anything familiar.

Everything is a lot bigger and higher up than he feels it ought to be. THIS MAKES IT TRICKY. Now where is he supposed to be, exactly...?]

[Derek watches all this, then chuckles a little.]

Would it help if you were up higher?

[Oh, this man is full of win today. With a chipper trill in response, Mikage spins around in a circle and stands on his back paws, as if trying to encourage this suggestion.]

[He tries.

Derek will offer his arm to be climbed.]

All right, then c'mon up, we'll see what we can do.

[Sweet deal. Without hesitation, Mikage scampers up his arm, perching comfortably on his shoulder like a pro. Oh wow, this is better already!]

[Derek's not as used to carrying someone on his shoulder as Mikage is to being on someone's shoulder, but after a moment or two, the hunter gets used to the weight. He will put up a steadying hand though so that he can bend down to scoop up the little dragon's journal.]

We're gonna need a code, probably, since I don't speak your language. Don't know if sound or tapping would work better for you.

Burupya! [Which is essentially his agreement; some sort of communicating is a good idea, though he's not entirely sure how to go about implementing one. Maybe tapping? Uh... okay. Trying this. He taps a paw experimentally against the man's shoulder, cocking his head to one side. Like that?]

[Derek waits for the tap, then nods.]

Maybe a little harder, but I think we can make that work. Two for left, one for right?

Mrr... pya. [After a moment Mikage bobs his head, glancing around to check their surroundings. Let's see... maybe the plaza would be a good way to go? The plaza is... um...

....

L... left...? He'll try it- tap tap.]

Left it is.

[And Derek will turn in that direction. He'll glance down at his new shoulder-buddy while he walks.]

Need anything to drink?

[Mikage considers this for a moment, then shakes his head. The apple was nice and juicy, and if he's thirsty later, he can always drink from the fountain. Assuming the make it to the plaza, that is.]

All right, then. Tell me when it's time to turn.

[And let's hope the little guy remembers enough of the village to not get them lost...well, comparatively speaking.]

[Don't be too hopeful, Derek- but Mikage does have a vague memory of the place, so chances are it only takes him a few turns to get back his bearings. They should arrive at the plaza before too much time passes.

And once they do, he seems to relax instantly, feeling much better about his situation. Surely someone familiar will come along and take him home if he's here!]

[Derek notices the change and nods to the area.]

Looking familiar?

[Mikage pats Derek's shoulder with both paws, showing such enthusiasm that he nearly loses his balance and tumbles off. He's looking in the direction of the fountain. He remembers that very clearly!]

[Derek instinctively reaches up to steady the little guy and smiles.]

You want down now, or do you still need the view?

Pya! [Actually, now that he thinks about it, getting down would be good. He needs to stretch his legs after riding around like that. With a quiet chirp he hops onto Derek's hand to climb over and lets himself drop to the ground, letting his wings catch a bit of the air to slow his fall a little. There, that's better.]

[Derek will likewise help by lowering his hand to help bring the ground closer. He'll watch the little guy stretch.]

This a good place, or do you want to keep going?

[This is a good place! Not that he can say that much. Peering around briefly, he wanders over to the edge of the fountain and lifts himself up to set his front paws on the stone, stretching out. ...He's too short to get up on the ledge. Maybe if he jumps?

This would be much easier if he could actually fly.]

Want some help?

[Oh, good idea! Mikage glances back at him, waggling his tail back and forth a little. Call it a last request, maybe! Since this guy's already done plenty to help him.]

All right then.

[And Derek will gently scoop him back up and settle him on the ledge, settling Mikage's journal nearby.]

If you need to, call me in the journal; just flip it open and make some noise; I'll leave mine open for today. If not, well I hope your friends show up soon. Sorry I don't know where you lived last time.

[What a nice guy! Mikage gives his hand one last little nuzzle, appreciating his help. He'll be sure to remember that, definitely.

Hopefully he'll find Shuri before it gets too late, though.]

[Derek will automatically scritch Mikage behind the ears at that nuzzle, still smiling a little.]

[And with that, the hunter will make his way off to take up whatever he'd been doing before.]
