Sep. 15th, 2014 07:08 pm[Consciousness comes to him slowly, memories even more so, so there's a long moment of serious confusion when Mikage wakes to find himself curled up in a ball at the end of someone's bed. With a quiet yelp he rolls off and crouches on the floor, cautiously checking the- oh god, it's Shuri.
Not again, is his first thought, but he can't remember when this would have happened before, so he's just more confused. The noise thankfully doesn't wake Shuri up, though, so Mikage has a chance to pilfer some clothes from the closet and sneak out. He's halfway down the hall, still trying to understand where he is and what's going on, when he spots the journal. It's got his name on it.
That's when the memories start to filter in. Something about- another world? Not heaven, anyway. And he'd definitely died back home. The wings had confused him as much as the rest, but now that the pieces are starting to come together, they're familiar, almost comfortable. This place was... a second chance. He doesn't remember all of it, but it feels right, being here.
Exhaling shakily, he grabs the journal and flees the house, letting his feet take him where they will. He wants to explore the town before he does anything else. He looks about as lost and curious as a New Feather, so if anyone feels like giving him some advice or pointing him in the right direction to landmarks, he'll be very happy. (And hey, he loves people. He'll chat up just about anyone if they'll put up with him.)
At some point he'll make his way to the clothing shop to get his own clothes rather than relying on Shuri's, which fit okay but are a bit too big for his liking anyway, and then he'll go back to Shuri's place for a belated reunion. He has to explain to the poor guy why his weird dragon pet... thing... is missing, after all.
That's the intent, anyway. As soon as he walks through the door, he sees Teito. Teito, who is there but isn't, who doesn't respond to his startled shout and merely goes about his business, who fades from sight after a full thirty seconds of ignoring his best friend. Teito wouldn't do that. Teito would... but he'd looked so real...
It isn't until later, hours at least, that Mikage shakily tests out the journal. It's been a while, so he's a little rusty.]
Ah... hey. Is this working? Okay, here goes. Hello- Luceti! I'm Mikage... I guess I've come back again, hah hah. Just can't get rid of me! A lot's changed, though, I hear... anyway, it's nice to be back.
Just wondering, um... does anyone know if Teito Klein is here? I thought- he was here before, and I swear I saw him this morning, but...
...I don't know. Are ghosts real here? People just come back when they die, so they shouldn't be, right?
