I guess it's about time I did this, huh?

Hey, so- I'm back! If anybody remembers seeing a little fluffy pink dragon, that was me. Sorry if I caused any trouble, and thanks to everyone who helped me out. I owe you big time! I don't think I got everyone's names, though, so... feel like introducing yourselves? And Haruki, am I still allowed in the Brigade or what?

It's called a fyulong dragon! Apparently I get reincarnated into one.

Reincarnated? Such a thing is possible in your world?

Sure is! When someone is born, they're given three wishes from the Chief of Heaven to fulfill in their lifetime. Once they've fulfilled their three wishes, they die and return to heaven. Then they get reincarnated.

Then theoretically, one could live forever if they decided not to fulfill those three wishes.

That's not possible. No one actually remembers the wishes they made; it's just something that naturally happens. And people can die other ways, too.

I see... so you fulfill your three wishes whether you were aware of it or not. I've never heard of a world with a system like that before; it almost sounds like something out of a legend or a fairytale.

Some people believe that's all it is, I think. But it's something I've always put faith into.

I don't see anything wrong in putting your faith in something that gives you hope.

Does your world have a god or a guardian like that?

I'm afraid not, unless you count the Valkynes Criaths. But those are less deities and more things that are essential to life in our world. I suppose you could say people put their faith in them in that sense.

Essential to life? What do you mean?

They help control and channel the flow of arles into the world. Without them, the land would be a barren wasteland devoid of life. That's why the people hold them in such great regard, and why they're considered the treasures of their countries.

Wow... that's amazing. The Chief of Heaven just handles wishes and death, nothing like the... what's "arles"?

Think of it as the lifeblood of my world, the power that allows the existence of all life.

It isn't exactly worshiped, but it is revered... though I suspect that's not quite what you had in mind.

Well... there are churches in every region devoted to worshipping the Chief of Heaven.
